Variable speed drive: reduce energy consumption
Compressor energy consumption accounts for more than 80% of the total life cycle cost, and the cost of producing compressed air accounts for more than 40% of the total electricity cost of the plant. In order to reduce energy consumption, Atlas Copco has developed a variable speed VSD air compressor. VSD technology not only saves a lot of energy, but also protects the environment for future generations. What is the unique feature of GA VSD?
1. The unique control logic of the Elektronikon® controller ensures that the compressor and frequency converter work perfectly in an optimal and safe range.
The flexible pressure selection of 2.4-13 bar automatically optimizes the maximum displacement at working pressure.
3. Special motor designed for variable speed (frequency conversion) operation. The bearing is designed to protect the bearing current. The motor and frequency converter work perfectly in the optimum efficiency over the entire operating range.
4. The motor has been specially designed considering the cooling characteristics of the motor and compressor unit at low speeds.
5.EMC EMC test and certification (option).
6. The reinforced design of the mechanical part of the machine ensures that all parts are within safe vibration levels controlled over the entire speed range.
7. The inverter is high quality and efficient, and the inverter cabinet overpressure cooling design ensures that the machine can run stably at up to 50 °C*.
* The maximum ambient temperature of the standard machine is 46 °C.
8. There is no speed window that increases energy consumption and affects pressure stability. The maximum adjustment range is as high as 80-85%.
9. Over-voltage design of the electric control cabinet and forced cooling reduces dust accumulation and prolongs the life of electrical components.
10. The pressure belt is kept within 0.1 bar.
